Hello! My name is Kellie Schaffner and I have been passionate about filmmaking from a young age. Simply put, I tell stories. But my goal is more than just entertainment.

Growing up, it was the characters and stories that I related to and felt inspired by that truly stuck with me. Watching films with such beautiful messaging felt as though someone was whispering to me, "You are not alone. You belong. You can change the world. You can work hard and become great."

I was fascinated by the power film had to bring me to blissful worlds while changing my very outlook on life. This captivation lead me to start making my own narrative movies and sometimes documentaries for fun. As I began thinking about a future career, I knew film was something I wanted to pursue further, so I attended Purdue University to study just that. In May, 2024 I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Video Production. During my time at college and after, I've directed several short narrative films.

Many of my films shed an optimistic light on life while also acknowledging the struggles we face in society. My goal as a filmmaker is to encourage viewers to remain confident in who they are, find supportive friends and family, and never give up. I hope that by sharing my messages with the world, people will become more inspired to confidently follow their passions in life.

My passion for storytelling doesn't end with narrative films. I also have experience with client work and creating promotional videos. I have completed a range of videos from one about owning fish to a promo for Purdue’s Film and Video major.

Now I am just beginning my work to empower the next generation of young girls to follow their dreams ... to remove the veil of difference that divides humans by showing another’s perspective ... to show that it costs nothing to be kind, but that an act of kindness can be priceless to someone else.
